A Redesign of My Monthly Energy Bill from Duke Energy
Every so often I login to my Duke Energy account to examine my monthly usage. Unfortunately I am greeted with poorly designed pie charts as the tool for making comparisons. I decided to do a redesign this afternoon.
Here's the original chart from Duke Energy with my design notes.
In my redesign I decided to use a sankey diagram to visualize the data. I used a very similar approach to building this in Tableau that I used here.
I think you'll find this redesign a better visualization of the data. Unfortunately, Duke Energy probably won't redesign their charts any time soon. If you have any questions feel free to email me at Jeff@DataPlusScience.com
